Fund Description: The Major Events, Games, and Attractions Fund was established by the North Carolina General Assembly to stimulate economic activity by attracting events that can, in turn, attract out-of-state visitors to North Carolina, strengthening the state’s travel and tourism industry. Local governments in North Carolina will soon be able to apply for funds designed to support their efforts to attract major events to the State of North Carolina and to their regions.

Esports Industry Grants

Fund Description: North Carolina offers Esports event producers financial rebates of up to 25% on qualified expenses.

NCAS Endowment – Amateur Sports Grants

Fund Description: Grants for organizations that are promoting amateur sports in North Carolina. Non-profit organizations with 501(c)3 status and involvement with the BODYARMOR State Games and/or Cycle North Carolina are preferred, but not required. Previous grants have provided funding to organizations for sports equipment, program development, program enhancement, sport conferences, training for coaches/administrators, facility upgrades, etc. The maximum annual grant amount is $5,000.

N.C. Amateur Sports – Youth Sports Grants (Equipment & Facility Upgrades)

Fund Description: The Youth Sports Grant fund for equipment and facility upgrades was established by the North Carolina General Assembly and N.C. Amateur Sports. Up to $20,000 per North Carolina county for state fiscal year 2024-2025 and $10,000 after state fiscal year 2024-25 will be distributed annually for youth sports equipment and upgrades to facilities that primarily serve youth participants. Local government agencies and 501(c)3 non-profit organizations are eligible to submit grant applications for this fund.

N.C. Youth Outdoor Engagement Commission – Youth Sports Grants (Team Travel Funding & Host Funding)

Fund Description: The Youth Sports Grant fund for travel and hosting events was established by the North Carolina General Assembly and the N.C. Youth Outdoor Engagement Commission. Up to $5,000 in travel funding for nonprofessional teams to attend in-state or out-of-state sporting events. Up to $25,000 to attract State, regional, area, and national sporting events, tournaments, and programs for nonprofessional sporting participants.
